Tomas A. Rodriguez

Longtime San Luis resident Tomas A. Rodriguez, 82, passed away July 6, 2022 peacefully at his home under Hospice Care with his loving family by his side. Tom, Tome, Tomas, was born on October 15, 1939 in San Luis, Colorado to Santos Rodriguez and Clorinda Quintana. He was later adopted by Ciprian and Candidita Rodriguez. Tomas was united in marriage to Mary A. Vigil on April 16, 1966 in San Luis, Colorado. Tomas served and was a veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1962-1965 and remained in active reserve for two years after he was honorable discharged. He was a member of the American Legion Post #142. He enjoyed watching all sports, going to parades, gambling, taking care of his flowers and caring for his cats. He loved his wife, children and grandsons dearly and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving wife Mary Rodriguez of San Luis, CO; son Tommy (Jackie Martinez) Rodriguez of San Luis, CO; daughter Liz (Michael) Sandoval of Arvada, CO; grandsons James and Marcos Sandoval of Arvada, CO; brothers Cip (Bertha) Rodriguez, Michael (Paulette) Moñtano both of Denver, CO; Augustine "Tino" Rodriguez, Gerald Rodriguez both of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters Joanne (Cornelio) Arellano, Candy Mondragon, Jeanette Rodriguez, Grace (Xavier) Serna, Lorraine (Patrick) Gallegos, Genevieve (Adrian) Maestas all of San Luis, CO; Elsie Romero of Albuquerque, NM; special cousin Carmelita Fernstrom, special niece Anabell (Greg) Arellano of San Luis, CO; his close friends and neighbors Dory Sanchez and Loretta Sanchez. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends. Tomas was preceded in death by his adopted parents Ciprian and Candidita Rodriguez, biological parents Santos Rodriguez and Clorinda (Rodriguez, step-father Hubert Rodriguez, sisters Mary Ann Vigil, Juanita Rodriguez, brothers George Rodriguez, Gary Rodriguez and his special uncle Manuel Rodriguez. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church in San Luis. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 12:00 PM.
