Mary Gallegos

Mary Gallegos, 79, of Antonito, Colorado passed away on February 23, 2026 surrounded by her loving husband Isaac Gallegos. Mary Gallegos was born on January 10, 1947 in Waco, Texas to Emory Hill and Margie Black. She was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before moving to San Diego, California. She later returned to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she attended elementary school, and eventually moved back to San Diego, where she completed her high education and graduated. She was a passionate artist whose work reflected her love for the world around her. As a member of groups such as the Rocky Mountain Artists club, she shared her creativity with fellow artists and the community. Her artistic spirit also led her to create her own brand, Mountain Top Gifts and Collectables, where she showcased unique pieces inspired by the beauty of nature. She was especially inspired by mountains and animals, often portraying their beauty and spirit through her paintings. Her faith played a central role in her life. She was a devoted Christian who traveled throughout the world sharing her faith and message of hope. During her time in San Diego, California, she worked with Morris Surreal, traveling and preaching in various places around the world. Later, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she also worked alongside Andrew Walnuck, continuing to travel and minister internationally. Beyond the studio, she embraced life with the same adventurous energy, enjoying motorcycling, horses, outdoor activities, and sports. Her art and her life were both guided by a deep appreciation for freedom, nature, and the open sky. She is survived by her loving spouse Isaac Gallegos, her loving son David Parker, her beloved brother Pat Hill and by many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Margie Black, her loving father Emory Hill, and her loving brother Barry Hill. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Living Water Bible Fellowship in Alamosa, Colorado (2910 Clark Street, Alamosa, CO 81101). Inurnment will be held at a later date at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
