Isaiah Timi Ortega

Monte Vista resident Isaiah T. Ortega, 26, departed this life on June 19, 2021 at the Penrose Medical Center in Colorado Springs with his loving family by his side. Isaiah made his big entrance into the world on March 31, 1995 in Alamosa, Colorado, the son of Steve Ortega and Mona Medina. After graduating from Monte Vista High School, he went on to work for many years doing construction. He will always be remembered for being a hard worker and his willingness to be the first to help anyone in need. He loved to interact with people especially kids. He refereed for the City of Monte Vista for many years. Isaiah was a kind and loving son, partner, stepfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who was an avid Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets fan. He enjoyed watching wrestling, going for cruises listening to music with his sister and friends, watching funny videos on YouTube and spending time with his friends. Isaiah was devoted to his faith in God, he liked to have bible studies. He will be dearly missed. He will live on through his parents Helen and Tim Medina of Monte Vista, CO; girlfriend Alisha Salazar of Monte Vista, CO; stepchildren Marcy and Jayla Salazar of Monte Vista, CO; biological mother and stepfather Mona and Johnny Madril of Monte Vista, CO; paternal grandparents Victor and Darlene Ortega of Alamosa, CO; maternal great-grandparents Cecilia and Joe Sanchez of Bountiful, CO; sisters Rena (Jay) Martinez of Amarillo, TX; Olivia (Kevin) Ortiz of Monte Vista, CO; Desiree Ortega of Denver, CO; Juliette Madril of Monte Vista, CO; brother Johnny Madril Jr., of Monte Vista, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Isaiah was preceded in death by his grandparents Bert and Dorothy Medina. Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 20201from 12-4 at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Valley Church of the Nazarene in Monte Vista. Interment will follow at the San Luis Valley Cemetery.
