Aiyana Renee Chavez

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved Aiyana Renee Chavez. Aiyana gained her angel wings December 9, 2024. She passed at Children's Hospital in Denver with her loving family right by her side. Aiyana made her grand entrance into the world on August 2, 2008, the only daughter of Jon Chavez and Vanessa Sanchez. Aiyana was a firecracker. She had a love for life and excelled at everything she set her mind to. Her quest to be the best she could be was what shaped her into the amazing, sweet, kind and caring soul she was. Aiyana was a light in this often dark world we live in. She was a friend to everyone and would be the first to help ANYONE in need. She had the most beautiful smile and the sweetest dimples. Her smile would light up a room. You could be having a hard day and the minute you saw her smile and were given her words of comfort everything was ok again. She was the closest thing any of us knew to be a true angel on earth. Aiyana was a good student and an incredible athlete. Her favorite sports she played were basketball and volleyball. She also was involved in color guard as well as band for Monte Vista High School . When she had free time, she loved spending time with her friends and family, Especially her brothers. When she would spend time with her friends, they would listen to music, make food and desserts together. One thing that Aiyana was so proud of was her love for God and her unwavering and undying faith. God knew how special he made her and wanted her back at his side, which is why he called her home and we now have our beautiful guardian angel forever. Aiyana was SO LOVED and will be forever missed! She left a mark on everyone she met and we will hold all the memories of her close to our hearts always! She will live on through her loving parents Jon Chavez and Vanessa Sanchez, brothers Marcus, Jarren(Chevelle), Andrew (Kayleigh) Little Jon Chavez, grandparents Catherine Chavez, Leroy and Wanda Sanchez, aunts and uncles James Chavez, Donald (Lisa) Chavez, Sonya (Frank) Daniels, Daniel (Amy)Sanchez, Stephen (Jody) Sanchez, Jason Sanchez, cousins Kassiah, Malik, Daniel Jr., David, Devyn, Alex, Caleb, Alaya, Josiah, Vanessa Chavez, Brandon, Christian, Sydni, Zach, Brennen, Dominic, DaMarcus, JaeLynn, Laila, Zeliyanna and Abel. Aiyana was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Jake Chavez, maternal great-grandparents Manuel and Josephine Trujillo and one cousin Tyler. Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 6:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM also at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Monte Vista Cemetery.
