Alamosa resident Viola Desederia Medina, 95, passed away January 18, 2022 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center. Viola was born on October 4, 1926 in Monte Vista, Colorado, the daughter of Sylviano Martinez and Delfina Maes Martinez. She was united in marriage to Tom R. Medina and the two shared a long and loving union until her passing. Viola enjoyed going to bingo, crocheting, traveling, cooking and baking. Survivors include her loving husband Tom R. Medina of Alamosa, CO; daughter Diana (John) Roybal of Lakewood, CO; sons Leonard (Dianna) Martinez of Jordan, MN; Trinidad (Zebby) Medina, Tommy Medina both of Alamosa, CO; grandchildren Steven (Annette) Martinez, Krysty (Paul) Wolf. Samantha Martinez, Justin Martinez great-grandchildren Isaac Martinez, Elias Wolf, Josiah Wolf and Isabelle Wolf. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dora Martinez, two brothers Sylviano and Tito Martinez. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church located at 330 San Juan, Alamosa, CO. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM also at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church in Alamosa. Interment will be held at the Alamosa Cemetery.
