Rosalie "Rose" Arellano

January 1, 1936 - August 23, 2021

Monte Vista resident Rosalia "Rose" Maria Aurora Arellano, 85, went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2021 at the River Valley Inn Nursing Home in Del Norte with her loving family by her side. Rosalia came into the world on January 1, 1936 in Antonito, Colorado, the daughter of Philiberto Duran and Helen Archuleta. She loved cooking big meals for her family, reading her Bible, and always lending a helping hand to those in need. Rose loved the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents Philiberto and Helen Duran, sons Stanley Arellano, Sydney Arellano siblings Philiberto Duran Jr., Edward Duran, Joe T. Duran, Lucy Munoz, Sally Atencio, Mary Malouff, Stella Brink and Mercy Valenzuela.. She will live on through her sister Connie Archuleta of Monte Vista, CO; daughter Jackie Allaart of Alamosa, CO; son David Arellano (Yvonne Lobato) of Monte Vista, CO; grandchildren Monique Arellano, Dominic Arellano, Joseph Arellano, Adam Arellano, Fabian (Sarah) Lobato, great-grandchildren Marquis, De Angelo, Delicia, Lucas, Joel, Nevaeh, Lauren, Daniel, Analise, Evelyn, Clorinda, one great-great-grandchild Sean Lobato. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1-4 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow at the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista.
