Priscilla Edith Chacon

January 20, 1933 - May 20, 2022

Alamosa resident Priscilla E. Chacon, 89, passed away May 20, 2022 at the San Luis Care Center. Born in Alamosa. Colorado on January 20, 1933, the beloved daughter of Tony P. Barela and Paula Gonzales Barela. Priscilla devoted her life to caring for her family and raising her children. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed bowling and attending bingo. She was extremely talented in making things with her hands and loved to crochet. Priscilla also enjoyed playing games on the computer and taking road trips to go gambling. Priscilla was such a kind and compassionate person and was a friend to all. She is so dearly missed. She will live on through her daughters Kay (Jesse) Salinas of Centennial, CO; Karen (Yoichi) Terahara of Thornton, CO; son Albert (Annette) Chacon of Alamosa, CO; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Sharon Kirkpatrick of Hotchkiss, CO; Joan Dove of Grand Junction, CO; Patsy (Phil) Meadows of California, sister-in-law Donna Barela of Murray, UT. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Paula Barela, parents who raised her Eduardo and Fidellia Gonzales, her loving husband Albert I. Chacon Sr., son Matthew Chacon, brothers Rudy Barela, Edward and Obed Gonzales, sisters Cordy Chacon, Dorothy Romero and Neoma Martin. A Viewing will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM and Funeral Service will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa.
