Lifelong San Luis resident Pancho Martinez,88, passed away September 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Pancho was born on October 23, 1929 in San Luis, Colorado, the son of Clorindo Martinez and Amilia Cardenas Martinez. Pancho worked many years of his life working as a ranch hand. Pancho was an incredible and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed going for wood, being in the mountains, he loved being on the ranch, going fishing and loved the time he was able to spend with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Survivors include his wife Elva Martinez of San Luis, CO; daughters Ruby (Jerry) Sanchez of Pueblo, CO; Bernice (Myers) Archuleta of Ft. Garland, CO; Donna (Robert) Martinez-Maes of San Luis, CO; son Gabe Martinez of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren Thomas (Steph) Archuleta, Leon Martinez of Ft. Garland, CO; Rochelle Sanchez of Pueblo, CO; Rikki Archuleta of Ft. Garland, CO; Daniel Gonzalez of San Luis, CO; Gabe Martinez, Reese Martinez both of Pueblo, CO; Bobbie Maes of San Luis, CO; Tyra Martinez, Keith Martinez both of Pueblo, CO; 8 great-grandchildren, sister Nola Sanchez of Denver, CO; brothers Sam (Marbella) Martinez of Denver, CO; Joseph Martinez of Boone, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pancho was preceded in death by his parents Clorindo Martinez , mother Amilia Cardenas and four siblings. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the San Luis Apostolic Church located on 7th and Alfonso in San Luis, CO. Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 1-5 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis. Interment will follow at the Apostolic Cemetery in San Luis.
