Mary Pacheco

Monte Vista resident Mary Pacheco, 77, Passed away May 31, 2022 at San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born July 5, 1944 in Monte Vista, Colorado, the beloved daughter of Gilbert Gutierrez and Josie Barela Gutierrez. A devoted wife, mother, and friend to all. She was united in marriage to the late Joseph Salvador Pacheco. Mary was the rock of her family. She loved to watch T.V. and go fishing with her family and friends. Mary loved to write passages out of the Bible and the time she spent with our Lord. She also loved to cook for her family and friends especially her tortillas. Mary enjoyed to go gambling on her free time. Her favorite was the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her daughters Verna (Frank) Garcia of Denver Co, Selena Pacheco, and Nora Jiron both of Monte Vista, Co; Sisters Irene Nava, and Maddie (Joe) Vigil both of Denver, Co; 6 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert & Josie Gutierrez; husband Salvy Pacheco, 3 daughters; Liz Chavez, Mary Garcia, and Donna Pacheco; One son Joseph Pacheco; one brother Eddie Gutierrez. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 7:00 PM at, A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM both at St. Joseph catholic church in Monte Vista.
