Mary Doris Duran

May 15, 1951 - January 27, 2019

San Luis resident Mary Doris Duran, 67, passed away peacefully January 27, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs with her loving family by her side. Mary was born on May 15, 1951 in Rio Lucio, New Mexico, the daughter of Octaviano Pacheco and Adiana Pacheco. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Joseph Ben Duran on November 30, 1968. The two shared a long and happy union together. Mary was a member of the Carmelitas and the Sacred Heart Society. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed going to bingo, gambling, picking piñon, going for wood and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband Joseph B. Duran of San Luis, CO; children Charlene (Mitchell) Gallegos of San Luis, CO; Patrick (Beatrice) Duran of Monte Vista, CO; Sharon (Sam) Barrios, Mark (Donna) Duran. Sherene (Valentin) Felix all of San Luis, CO; Jose and Jeff Duran both of Huntington Beach, California; Steven (Nicole) Duran of Denver, CO; Joshua (Najondine) Duran of San Luis, CO; 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters Rose Salinas of Santa Maria, CA; Roseann (Orlando) Mondragon of Pueblo, CO; Mable (Daniel) Mata of Pueblo, CO; Annette (Arnold) Mascarenas of Rio Rancho, NM; brothers Orlando (Orlinda) Pacheco and Oliver Pacheco both of Santa Maria, CA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her patents Octaviano and Adiana Pacheco, paternal grandparents Moses and Sophia Pacheco, maternal grandparents Jose and Pablita Pacheco, grandson Michael Adam Sanchez, sisters Merlinda Vigil, Stella Pacheco, brother Charlie Pacheco, Octaviano Pacheco Jr., and Joe Pacheco. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church in San Luis. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Sangre De Cristo Cemetery.
