Idella Church

Ft. Garland resident Idella Church, 89, was called home on November 25, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side. Idella came into the world on November 16, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of David Brown and Maudelle McDonald Brown. Idella was a woman of strong faith, she was a Dorcas leader as well as a Pathfinder leader for the 7th Day Adventist Church. She was also a choir member of her church. Idella enjoyed reading, needlepoint, cooking, baking, sewing, doing crafts and reading her Bible. Her legacy will live on through her daughters Catherine Brown of Huntsville, AL; Shirley (Kaliana) Hope of Ft. Garland, CO; Delphine (Darryck) Farmer of Gaithersburg, MD; Evelyn (Mark) Winkfield, Westerville, OH; sons Sidney (Viola) Williams of Virginia Beach, VA; 16 grandchildren, sister Patricia (Thomas) Spann of Detroit, MI; brothers Ronald Brown, Donald (Vivian) Brown, Richard Brown, Ervin (Sandra) Brown all of Detroit, MI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Idella was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Michael Brown, Robert Brown, Earl Brown, David Brown, two sisters Loretta David and Lillian Brown. Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 11 am at the Colorado Springs Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1305 N. Union Blvd, Colorado Springs CO 80909.
