Herminio Isidro Gomez

May 15, 1944 - July 9, 2019

Garcia resident Herminio Isidro Gomez, 75, passed away peacefully July 9, 2019 at his home under Hospice care with his loving family by his side. Isidro was born on May 15, 1944 in Antonito, Colorado, the son of Antonio Gomez and Aurora Martinez Gomez. He was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam for two years. Isidro was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, gardening and ranching. He was a member of the V.F.W of Cerro, New Mexico. Isidro will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his daughter Dorine Gomez of Garcia, CO; son Patrick Gomez of Pojoaque, NM; grandchildren Anthony (Julianna) Arguello of Santa Fe, NM; Andrew Arguello of Garcia, CO; Samantha (Joe) Moya of Taos, NM; sisters Irene Gomez of Rocky Ford, CO; Frances Lujan of Monte Vista, CO; brothers Manuel (Joyce) Gomez of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Isidro was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Aurora Gomez, both sets of grandparents, sisters Pauline Anaya, Survy Fernandez, Nellie Miranda, brothers Tony Gomez, Robert Gomez and Kenny Gomez. Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla, New Mexico. Inurnment will follow at the Garcia Cemetery with full military honors.
