Edna R. Letourneau

July 22, 1936 - April 4, 2022

La Jara resident Edna Letourneau, 85, passed away April 4, 2022 at the Rio Grande Inn Nursing Home. Edna was born on July 22, 1936 in San Antonio, Colorado, the daughter of Dionisio Lopez and Estela Gallegos Lopez. She was united in marriage to Roger M. Letourneau in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1961. Edna enjoyed singing, playing cards, sewing, listening to music and spending time with her husband and extended family. Edna was a talented Seamstress who created beautiful clothing and gowns for herself, family and friends. Edna and Roger were married for 61 years and were truly one another’s best friend. Together they enjoyed extensive travels, with their fondest memories being of the weekend trips to Las Vegas to catch shows by their favorite performers including Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline and Sammy Davis Jr. Edna was an exceptional cook and she loved to host dinner parties and entertain in her castle. Survivors include her loving husband Roger Letourneau of La Jara, CO; sister Margie Lopez-Jiron of Antonito, CO; brother Alex Lopez (Marjorie Yohn) of Alamosa, CO; Nieces Darlene (David) Valdez; Noel (Orlando) Ramos all of Alamosa; Denise Jiron, Antonito and Nephew Paul Jiron, Antonito. She is also survived by her great nephews, nieces and many other extended family members and friends. Edna was preceded in death by her parents Dionisio and Estela Lopez; Nephew Glenn Jiron and Brother-in-law Edmund Jiron. Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 AM also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
