Donna Faye Wood

November 20, 1956 - March 1, 2022

Donna Faye Wood passed away Tuesday March 1st, 2022 after a battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 20th, 1956, in Alamosa, Colorado to Austin Wood and Evelyn Hindelang. She was the youngest of 8 children. Donna had always had a special place in her heart for kids. She started volunteering at the Alamosa Head Start while in high school where she eventually found a career. In her 38 years there, she touched the lives of many young children in the community, and they all held a special place in her heart. Donna was also an active member of the Catholic church. She had a very strong faith and close relationship with God which served her throughout her life. Donna loved her church, community, and family. She was known for her artistic abilities and for the love she had for her dog, Sparky. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Sacred heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at the Alamosa Cemetery. To honor Donna's wishes the family is asking for anyone attending services to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
