Garland resident Craig Burdette Thompson, 58, passed away September 9, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. Craig was welcomed into the world on November 2, 1960 in Canton, South Dakota, the beloved son of Dale and Helen Thompson. He grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and later settled in Colorado. Craig was united in marriage to Pam Lawrenz on August 13, 1994 in Thornton, Colorado. The two shared a long and loving union until his passing. Craig was a successful entrepreneur, always sharing his extensive business experience and expertise with whomever he engaged. Craig’s true passion was hang gliding. He loved flying and sharing that passion as a hang gliding tandem instructor for many years. Teaching was his passion. He was a member of the Hang Gliding Association and Carpet Cleaning Association for many years. Craig was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed hang gliding, the joy of a tackling a good challenge and was always up for a good debate. Additional interests include his joy in landscaping projects and camping. He loved traveling with his wife, dogs and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and always in our heart. He will live on through his wife Pam of Ft. Garland, CO; son Mark Myer of Steam Boat Springs, CO; sisters Karen Stack of Prescott Valley, AZ; Pam (Joe) Batallion of Omaha, NE; brothers Jeff (Sue) Thompson of Kansas City, MO; Gene (Denise) Thompson of Gilbert, AZ; Mark Thompson of Prescott, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Craig was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Helen and brother Steve. Cremation has been chosen and services will be held on Monday, September 16th, 2019 from 2pm -6 pm in Fort Garland, CO Fort Garland Museum 29477 Highway 159 Fort Garland CO 81133 To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
