Antonito resident Candido S. Sandoval, 80, went to his eternal rest on November 26, 2020 at the Evergreen Nursing Home. Candido was born on December 5, 1939 in Ortiz, Colorado, the son of John M. Sandoval and Estella Duran Sandoval. Candido was a compassionate and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed going fishing, hunting, being outdoors and he was known for his talent as a musician and loved to play music. His greatest joy in life came from the time he was able to spend with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters Sharon Sandoval of Antonito, CO; Lesley Quezada of Alamosa, CO; Marcie (Frank) Romero, Kelli (Gabriel) Romero both of Denver, CO; sons Samuel Mark Sandoval of Dallas, TX; Scott Sandoval of Albuquerque, NM; Stewart (Geraldine) Sandoval of Denver, CO; John (Rosalie) Sandoval, Shawn Sandoval both of Antonito, CO; Michael Garcia of Alamosa, 20 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sisters Grace DuPont of Albuquerque, NM; Emily Sandoval of Alamosa, CO; brothers Donald Sandoval, Gary Sandoval both of Mogote, CO; Wayne Sandoval of Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Candido was preceded in death by his parents John M. and Estella Sandoval, brother Alfonso Sandoval and grandson Dezi Quezada.
