Scott was born on June 23, 1970, in Alamosa, Colorado, to his parents, Andrew Bobby Garcia and Patsy Marie Garcia. Raised in the San Luis Valley, Scott grew up surrounded by family, community, and the landscapes that he would cherish throughout his life. From a young age, he developed a deep sense of loyalty to those he loved and a passion for the simple joys that defined him. Scott spent much of his working life at the local radio station in Alamosa, where he worked side by side with his beloved mother, Patsy. Their time together there was more than a job—it was a shared bond filled with laughter, dedication, and countless memories that would remain close to his heart. His voice, presence, and familiar spirit became a part of the daily rhythm of the community he loved so much. In his younger years, Scott was known as a talented and determined athlete. He excelled in both basketball and wrestling, earning the respect of teammates and competitors alike. His competitive spirit was matched only by his sportsmanship and the pride he carried in representing his hometown. Scott was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge, where he found camaraderie and friendship among fellow members. He valued the sense of belonging and service that came with being part of that organization. One of Scott’s greatest passions in life was his love for classic cars. He had a special appreciation for the craftsmanship and history behind each vehicle, and he poured his time and energy into restoring and showcasing them. He was an active member of the Early Iron Group and a car show group in Farmington, New Mexico, where he formed lasting friendships with others who shared his enthusiasm. Scott took great pride in his prized vehicles—a 1955 Chevy, a 1968 Camaro, and a 1967 Chevy Nova—all of which earned him awards and recognition at various shows. To Scott, these cars were more than machines; they were expressions of his dedication, patience, and love for timeless beauty. Above all, Scott will be remembered for his kind heart, his easygoing nature, and the way he made others feel welcomed and valued. He had a quiet strength about him, a steady presence that brought comfort to those around him. His love for his family was unwavering, and he carried the memory of his mother close to him every day. Scott is survived by his loving father, Andrew Bobby Garcia; his brother, Josh Garcia; his aunts, Barbara Dominguez and Donna Dominguez; and many dear friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Patsy Marie Garcia, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became. Services for Scott Garcia will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Church, located at 715 Fourth Street in Alamosa, Colorado 81101. Scott’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the passions he shared so generously. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
