Mary “Pauline” Jaramillo October 7, 1944 – April 23, 2026 Mary Pauline Jaramillo, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the age of 81. She was born on October 7, 1944, in Monte Vista, Colorado, to Edward Gutierrez and Maggie Cortez, who preceded her in death. Mary lived a life defined by resilience, devotion, and deep love for her family. With a seventh-grade education, she began working at a young age, dedicating many years of hard labor in agriculture during harvest seasons. Her strong work ethic and determination were evident to all who knew her, and she carried those values throughout her life. In 1961, Mary married the love of her life, Leroy Jaramillo. Together, they built a life centered on family, perseverance, and shared memories that would last a lifetime. Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, fishing, and camping under the open sky. She was an avid fan of wrestling, especially WWE, and never missed an opportunity to watch her favorite matches. She also enjoyed visiting the casino, where she could relax, have fun, and share laughter with loved ones. Above all, Mary cherished spending time with her family—those moments brought her the greatest happiness and fulfillment. She is survived by her loving children, Ray Matthew Jaramillo and Carrielee McCracken; her brothers, Robert (Betty) Gutierrez and Leroy (Belinda) Gutierrez; her four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through each of them, carried forward in the values, strength, and love she instilled. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Maggie Gutierrez; her sisters, Dolores Gutierrez and Lorraine Gutierrez; and her brothers, Gilbert (Josephine) Gutierrez, Oscar (Ciara) Gutierrez, Jake (Lucille) Gutierrez, Jose Edward (Gloria) Gutierrez, and Sardo Gutierrez. Mary will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her unwavering love, and the way she brought her family together. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Romero Valley Funeral Home. A rosary service will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Her inurnment will take place at Gomez Cemetery in Capulin.
