Diana Castro

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Diana Castro, 73, of Monte Vista, Colorado. Diana was born on December 17, 1951, in Taos, New Mexico, to Ernest Herrera and Ernestine Cordova Herrera. She was united in marriage to Gerardo Castro on September 9, 1992. Diana was passionate about traveling, playing bingo, and enjoying outdoor activities. She cherished the time spent with her loving family and friends. She is survived by her children: son Thomas Medina (wife Marcella “Chica”) Medina, Tammy Medina (“Niece”) (Daughter), son Tim “Timo”Medina (partner Donna Romero), and her grandchildren: Monique Medina (husband Javier Hidrogo), Daneeca Medina (partner Elizabeth León”, Danielle Medina (husband William), Andrew Medina, Randy Garcia, Benito Renner, Wraynette Sisneros (husband Luis Sisneros), Quianah Yellowhorse ("Que"), Ariana Medina ("Audies") Jonathan Montez ("Joby" husband) Elias Medina “Babyboy” Isabel Aguilera (wife). Diana is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Javier "Junior" Hidrogo-Medina, Miguel Hidrogo-Medina, James "JT" Medina, Nehemiah :Nehmo” Medina, Avontay Hall, Daveon Lee, Unique Bell, Luis Sisneros Jr., Elizabeth Sisneros, Oliver Sisneros, Ambrosia "Brosia" Yellowhorse, Ada Lynn "Addy" Yellowhorse, Alizae "Goober" Montez, Amelia "Milly" Montez, and Aracely "Cely" Medina. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Teresa Herrera, Veronica Herrera, Wanda Medina, and brothers Richard Cordova, Leo Herrera, Gerry Herrera, and Larry Herrera. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Herrera and Ernestine Herrera, Angelique Medina, Roger Herrera, and Pat Herrera. Services for Diana Castro will be held on May 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the River of Life Church, with dinner to follow at the Lariat Church in Monte Vista.
