Carol L. Romero November 5, 1955 - July 24, 2026 With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Carol L. Romero, who entered into eternal rest on July 24, 2026, at her home in San Acacio, Colorado. She was 70 years old. Carol was born on November 5, 1955, in Jaroso, Colorado, to her loving parents, Leo Cordova and Celina (Martinez) Cordova. She started her young life in San Luis, CO before moving to California. After graduation, she moved back to Colorado and settled in Colorado Springs, CO. There she met and married the love of her life, Richard B. Romero and they were married for over four decades. Carol retired as an accountant for the Colorado Department of Social Services. She took great pride in her work and formed lasting friendships with many colleagues throughout her career. While Carol found fulfillment in her career and she also enjoyed gambling for fun, her greatest joy was always her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending precious moments with her children and grandchildren. She treasured every holiday, birthday, family gathering, and simple afternoon spent creating memories with those she loved most. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of over 44 years, Richard B. Romero; her daughter, Annabel Munoz of Pueblo, Colorado; her sons, Ricardo (Heather) Romero of Centennial, Colorado, and Carlos Romero of Pueblo, Colorado; her sisters, Brenda Rael of Pueblo, Colorado, and Alice (Jose) Obeso of Pueblo, Colorado; her brothers, Larry Cordova of Denver, Colorado, and Albert Cordova of Denver, Colorado; her eight cherished grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss her loving Presence. Carol was welcomed into eternal peace by those who preceded her in death: her beloved parents, Leo Cordova and Celina Cordova; her precious grandson, Carlos Esteban Romero; and her sisters, Leona Quintana and Lorraine Cordova. Although Carol’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the countless memories she created will continue to live on through her family for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A Memorial to honor Carol’s memory will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Goodnight Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004. A light meal will follow the ceremony. Interment will be held at a later date.
